“When
David Speaks, hearts open to courage, inspiration and laughter.”
David
Roche inspires, entertains, and teaches with remarkable warmth, humor
and dignity. He has transformed the lessons of a lifelong facial
disfigurement into a compelling message that leaves audiences prepared
to face their own challenges and to better understand the differences in
others. The story of David’s heroic journey from shame to strength has
been an inspiration from appearances at the White House to corporations
to academic facilities throughout the country.
David was born with a facial disfigurement called
Cavernous Hemangioma (a benign tumor consisting of blood vessels),
Without the knowledge of the advanced removal treatments known today, he
was left with radiation scarring and the remains of much primitive
reconstructive surgery. David does not hesitate, however; to call his
face “a gift from God. He is quick to add that it is one of those
gifts where you say, “Gee, you shouldn’t have.” He promotes the
audience to recognize the value and humor in differences.
His award-winning, one-person presentation brings
together all of the emotions one experiences in a lifetime. From tears
to smiles, David highlights his “moments of grace”,
those few minutes in a lifetime that you can truly say, “Life
is Great”. We don’t get many of them, but David captures several to
share with his audiences that have included: The University of Notre
Dame, The Columbia Theatre, Lockheed Martin Corp., the Washington and
Nevada Arts Councils, Washington state University, San Francisco State
University, Livermore Laboratories among many others.
Moments of Grace:
Courage in the Face of Change--
Learn how to discover and experience those soul-supporting moments to
their fullest potential. His presentation builds self-assurance and
generates a pro-active attitude toward challenges and differences.
The Key to taking
Risks:
From a “person of the night “ to an on-stage performer--
Far-motivated defensive behavior is destructive of personal and
organizational goals. David is a natural-born expert on self-esteem. Get
help in facing the challenges of today’s complex world by a performer
who knows the meaning of the word “face”.
Diversity
Awareness: My Face is a Gift!--We
cannot value diversity in others unless we first accept our own
diversity. David Roche, the man with the totally diverse face,
encourages audiences as they learn to take the vital first step. This
presentation is a perfect complement to any diversity awareness program.
