Glenn McIntyre
At 23 years of age, Glenn was typical young guy—college graduate,
married, and a newly sworn-in police officer. He had everything
including a beautiful motorcycle on which he had toured the continental
United State and Alaska. Then the unthinkable happened: a drunk driver
smashed Glenn’s life, instantly disintegrating his body. His back
broke in 17 places, he suffered a broken knee, hip, six ribs and
received internal injuries. Glenn spent 17 hours in surgery, 8 months in
the hospital, and a five hundred thousand dollars in medical bills. What
he wasn’t prepared for was the life of pain, gains and setbacks that
he was about to endure. Through years of rehabilitation and positive
thinking, he has become a survivor and his presentation; “Live Your
Dream” inspires others to meet their goals.
Glenn, together with his Service Dog Boylan,
continues their police duties, but in a different capacity. Now, twenty
years later, he is readying for retirement but his stories are numerous.
He shares his experiences in his uniquely powerful speech. He combines
his life skills with the practical knowledge of stress reduction, risk
management, return to work policies,
and customer service. His presentations have been labeled as
humorous, entertaining, inspiring, and motivational.
Glenn has produced AWARD WINNING PROGRAMS and has
helped pass several state laws. He welcomes the competition of
wheelchair tennis as he risen to be one of the top players in the
country. His list of accomplishments goes on but the one in which he
is most proud is the birth of his twin daughters. In 1996 Glenn and his
wife defied the odds once more by being the first complete-injury
paraplegic to successfully conceive children.
You may have seen him tell his story on “The Leeza Show” or
any of their other TV appearances.
“An
achiever...he excels in everything he does”.
