James Sterrett-Bryant

James Sterrett-Bryant, a veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era, is a singer of international stature and a familiar name in the Southern California classical music community. He has performed throughout the United States and Europe. Nationally, Mr. Sterrett-Bryant has been a soloist with Opera Ebony in Philadelphia, the Queensboro College Choir in New York, the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music in Virginia, and at the Yachats Music Festival in Oregon. He is a graduate of the California Institute of the Arts-School of Music, where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Vocal Performance.
Added to Mr. Sterrett-Bryant's prestigious list of recitals and live presentations, he has also recorded three CD's, which include the Mass in A Major by Cesar Franck, the Mass in D Major, by Antonin Dvorak and the Mozart Lecture Series with Robert Winter. He has recently released a collection of traditional Negro spirituals entitled, How the Spirit Moves Me. His recital programs include clasical, Broadway, art songs and the music of African-American composers.
